Filipino imports Tamayo, Cagulangan shine in KBL

Filipino imports Carl Tamayo and JD Cagulangan were recognized for their performances during the 2024-25 Korean Basketball League (KBL) season.

Tamayo was selected to the KBL's Best Five, while Cagulangan won Rookie of the Year for KT Sonic Boom.

In his first year with Changwon LG Sakers, Tamayo averaged 15.1 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game, contributing significantly to their second-place finish and direct entry into the semifinals.

Cagulangan recorded 7.3 points, 4.3 assists, 2.4 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game for KT Sonic Boom, helping them secure a fourth seed position in the quarterfinals.

Tamayo was also named the Most Valuable Player of the KBL's third round, with four 30-point performances this season, including a 37-point performance against Seoul Samsung Thunders.
