Philippine women's football team starts nine-day training camp

The Philippine women's national football team will commence their nine-day training camp in Manila on Tuesday, January 28.

Coach Mark Torcaso expressed excitement about the upcoming intrasquad exhibition match at the newly completed Mall of Asia Football Field on February 25, where fans can experience the team up close.

Director of Senior National Teams Freddy Gonzalez highlighted the importance of connecting with local fans following a successful year that included their historic World Cup debut and winning the Asean Women's Championship in 2022.

The team aims to build on their game model and improve after dropping to No. 41 in the FIFA Women's World Rankings following mixed results in October.

With several tournaments ahead, including the Southeast Asian Games, ASEAN Women's Championship, and AFC Women's Asian Cup Qualifiers, the Filipinas are preparing for a busy schedule starting in June.
