FIBA reclassifies Millora-Brown as local, eligible for Gilas

FIBA has officially reclassified Quentin Millora-Brown from naturalized to local status, making him eligible for Gilas Pilipinas.

National team head coach Tim Cone expressed excitement about adding the 25-year-old player who stands at 6-foot-10, comparing him to Kevin Quiambao in terms of what he means to the program and saying he is 'exactly what the doctor ordered'.

Millora-Brown previously helped lead the University of the Philippines Fighting Maroons to the UAAP Season 87 men's basketball title in 2024 and played for Macau Black Bears against Gilas Pilipinas ahead of the FIBA Asia Cup.

Gilas Pilipinas concluded its Asia Cup campaign with a quarterfinal loss to Australia on Wednesday, August 13, but Cone highlighted the contributions of veteran players like Japeth Aguilar despite his wife's concerns and Kai Sotto's recovery from an ACL injury.

With Millora-Brown's addition and the potential return of Sotto for future qualifiers, Gilas aims to strengthen its lineup while considering possible changes to maintain continuity in their program.
