FEU wins men's football title in shootout, 12th overall; women win third straight

Far Eastern University (FEU) won its second UAAP men's football championship in three years and secured their 12th overall title on Sunday after defeating Ateneo Blue Eagles in a penalty shootout, 5-4.

The match ended 1-1 after extra time at Rizal Memorial Football Stadium, with Rico Braga scoring the winning penalty and Mon Diansuy making crucial saves to secure FEU's victory.

Spanish head coach Roman Oliver led FEU to their second consecutive men's football title since Season 85, becoming the first foreign tactician in over a decade to do so.

Despite missing key players due to suspension, FEU secured the title and will bid farewell to graduating seniors Eugene Arriola, Abdulnasser Mustapa, and Gerald Estores.

Additionally, FEU's women's football team completed their third consecutive championship by defeating De La Salle University Lady Green Booters, 3-2, on Saturday.
