FDA approves Clover Biopharmaceuticals COVID-19 vaccine trial

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) continues to accept applications for conducting coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) vaccine clinical trials in the Philippines.

As of January 8, FDA has received three applications which have been reviewed by the Department of Science and Technology-Vaccine Expert Panel (DOST-YEP) and the Single Joint Ethics Review Board (SJREB).

On this day, FDA approved Clover Biopharmaceuticals AUS Pty Ltd's vaccine for clinical trials.

The FDA also previously granted approval on December 28 for Janssen Vaccines & Prevention B.V.'s vaccine trial.

FDA is still awaiting a response to clarifications regarding Sinovac Life Sciences' proposed study before making a decision.
