Father arrested for raping stepdaughters, daughter

A father in San Pablo City, Laguna has been arrested by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) for allegedly sexually assaulting his two stepdaughters and his four-year-old daughter.

The NBI conducted an operation on March 31 at the suspect's residence, rescuing his young daughter during the arrest; victims reported that the abuse began when one stepdaughter was just 17 years old and continued while they were sleeping in their bedroom.

Cases have been filed against the suspect under Republic Acts No. 8353 (Anti-Rape Law), No. 7610 (Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation and Discrimination Act), and No. 9208 as amended by RA 10364 (Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act).

The rescue operation was initiated based on a referral from a non-government organization acting on behalf of the two stepdaughters who had escaped from their home.

According to the victims, they were held at knifepoint during assaults and threatened with violence if they refused to cooperate; the suspect denied all allegations despite evidence against him.
