Family killed, two arrested in Nueva Ecija store shooting

A couple and their son were shot and killed inside their store in San Leonardo, Nueva Ecija on Wednesday, March 26.

The victims are Don Rey Geronimo, 55; his wife Aurora, 52; and their son Demarcus Ezra.

Four armed men entered the store, shot the family with firearms, and fled with money and a cellphone towards Barangay Bonifacio.

Police have arrested two of the suspects involved in the incident; one is a 38-year-old duck raiser from Barangay Mallorca who was apprehended in Peñaranda, while the other is his 51-year-old brother and farmer from Barangay Mallorca.

The arrested individuals were found with a caliber .45 pistol, bullets, and a hand grenade; they have been charged with murder, violations of RA 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act), the Omnibus Election Code, and illegal possession of explosives.

Police remain active in pursuing the two remaining suspects involved in the crime.
