Suan wins CDO congressional race despite disqualification claims

A post on 'CDO News Today' falsely claimed Congressman Lordan Suan was disqualified by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) for vote buying, but Suan denied this in a Facebook post.

On Tuesday, May 13, the local board of canvassers proclaimed Suan as the winner over Kikang Uy with 88,526 votes to Uy's 85,099.

Uy's camp sought to suspend the proclamation due to a disqualification complaint against Suan but was unable to do so since there was no official order from Comelec en banc.

Suan campaigned on continuing infrastructure projects and social service programs in his district, such as farm-to-market roads and educational assistance.

Despite signing articles of impeachment against Vice President Sara Duterte, which led to misinformation about him, Suan won the election and is set to return to the House of Representatives.
