Carpio Morales endorses Quimbo for Marikina mayor

Former ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales has endorsed Rep. Stella Luz Quimbo for mayor of Marikina, highlighting her integrity and principles in public service.

Morales praised Quimbo's dedication to good governance during their time working together at the Philippine Competition Commission and in academia, emphasizing that Quimbo has never faced a single case of corruption throughout her career.

Quimbo is running to replace the incumbent amid concerns about Marikina's urgent need for strong leadership and resilience planning following recent economic setbacks and typhoon devastation like Ulysses in 2020.

As a lawmaker, Quimbo has authored significant legislation such as the Universal Healthcare law and bills promoting education reform, showcasing her commitment to governance and results.

Morales emphasized that Marikina needs a leader who knows what she's doing, stressing 'This is not the time for trial and error,' and urging voters to support Quimbo in the upcoming May 12 polls.

Quimbo faces Maan Teodoro, wife of suspended Marikina Mayor Marcy Teodoro, in the midterm elections.
