Filipina Olympian Tabal joins EVA Air Marathon

Around 24,000 runners, including Filipina Olympian Mary Joy Tabal, participated in the EVA Air Marathon in Taipei on October 26.

Tabal, who last competed in the Tokyo Marathon in 2023 and is a Rio Olympian and six-time Milo Marathon queen, expressed her excitement to return to competitive running after spending time with her family.

The event featured around 300 Filipino participants supported by TravelCare, which covered all expenses for Team Philippines's trip, including national and student-athletes endorsed by the Department of Education (DepEd) and the Philippine Sports Commission.

EVA Airways, Taiwan's leading airline, highlighted the importance of connecting countries through sports, emphasizing this marathon as a unique experience since its inception in 2018.

The race included various distances such as full and half marathons, as well as shorter races, passing by iconic landmarks like Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall and Taipei 101.
