Estrada files AI training bill for govt workers

Senate President Pro Tempore Jinggoy Estrada has filed Senate Bill No. 2930 to equip government employees with artificial intelligence (AI) knowledge and skills.

Estrada emphasized that AI is transforming industries globally, necessitating the preparation of the workforce to adapt to these changes.

The bill proposes a training program under the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), which would offer courses on AI fundamentals, applications in governance, potential risks, and strategies for ethical use every two years.
