Ridao designated OIC as Chavez takes leave

Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Senior Undersecretary Emerald Ridao has been designated as Officer-in-Charge while Acting Secretary Cesar Chavez is on leave from Feb. 17 to 21.

Chavez confirmed the arrangement during a press briefing on Thursday, February 13, and stated that he will work remotely at full capacity during his absence.

Ridao, according to a department order signed by Chavez on Wednesday, will handle day-to-day operations and act for him if necessary.

The temporary designation comes amid rumors of Chavez's resignation, which he has denied.
