Eleazar opposes death penalty, calls for justice system reform

Former police chief and senatorial aspirant Guillermo Eleazar stated on Tuesday that he opposes the death penalty.

Eleazar emphasized the importance of strengthening the justice system to prevent wrongful convictions.

He cited the need for a perfect criminal justice system, stating it's better to acquit ten guilty individuals than to convict one innocent person.

Eleazar is running under Partido Reporma alongside presidential candidate Panfilo Lacson and Senate President Vicente Sotto III, who have also withdrawn support for capital punishment.
