EJ Obiena wins Orlen Copernicus Cup, secures second gold of indoor season

EJ Obiena secured his first place finish at the Orlen Copernicus Cup in Torun, Poland over the weekend, achieving a season-best performance by clearing 5.80 meters and overcoming recent setbacks outside the podium.

Obiena's victory came after finishing seventh at the ISTAF Indoor in Germany last week.

Polish athlete Piotr Lisek took the silver medal with a clearance of 5.70 meters, while Norway's Sondre Guttormsen claimed bronze for the same height but lost in countback.

This win marks Obiena's second gold medal of the indoor season following his triumph at the Meeting Metz Moselle Athlelor where he defeated Tokyo Olympic silver medalist Christopher Nilsen.

Obiena's performance highlights his strong comeback and solidifies his position as a top pole vaulter in the international scene.
