EAC edges Arellano 66-64, ties for first

Emilio Aguinaldo College (EAC) extended its winning streak by narrowly defeating Arellano University with a 66-64 victory on Wednesday in the Filoil Preseason Cup.

The Generals' clutch performance was led by Brianne Angeles and Nicole Quinal, who scored 15 and 12 points respectively to secure their fourth consecutive win and tie for first place with Colegio de San Juan de Letran.

Despite holding a 12-point lead earlier in the game, EAC had to rely on key baskets from Angeles and Quinal in the endgame to maintain their strong position ahead of the NCAA Season 101.

Head coach Jerson Cabiltes expressed confidence that his team's recent performance solidifies them as serious title contenders, highlighting the contributions of both veterans and rookies like EJ Castillo.

In other games, Mapua University and Perpetual Help System DALTA secured victories against Jose Rizal University and San Sebastian College-Recoletos respectively, with Mapua improving to 4-2 and Perpetual ending a three-game losing streak at 2-4.
