Duterte orders withdrawal of cops from Taal danger zone

President Rodrigo Duterte ordered the withdrawal of additional police personnel from Taal Volcano’s danger zone on January 29.

He expressed concern for their health, noting that they had been exposed to volcanic ash for several weeks and were at risk of respiratory problems.

Duterte stated that local government officials and assigned police would be responsible for enforcing restrictions in the affected areas.
