Duterte authorizes hazard pay, risk allowance for health workers

President Duterte signed Administrative Orders authorizing hazard duty pay and special risk allowances for health workers battling the pandemic.

Under AO 35, frontline HRHs can receive up to PHP3,000 monthly in active hazard duty pay, exempt from income tax.

AO 36 grants public and private health workers directly dealing with COVID-19 patients a special risk allowance of up to PHP5,000 per month, also exempt from income tax.

DOH and DBM will validate claims for the special risk allowance.
