Duterte leads Rizal Day commemoration, honors pandemic heroes

President Rodrigo Duterte led the commemoration of Rizal Day at the Rizal National Monument on Thursday.

Duterte participated in a flag-raising ceremony and laid a wreath on the monument of Dr. Jose Rizal, marking the 125th anniversary of his martyrdom.

In his message, Duterte honored Filipino front-liners for their bravery during the pandemic, urging Filipinos to emulate Rizal's patriotism and idealism.
