Ridon calls for aid for P20k-P40k earners; Duterte seeks more funds

Former Urban Poor Commission chair Terry Ridon suggests that families earning between P20k and P40k per month should receive government aid during the enhanced community quarantine.

Ridon argues these families are struggling due to reduced resources and halted work, with savings running out by May 1.

President Duterte has asked his economic team to find additional funds for the COVID-19 response, as the initial PHP275 billion budget is deemed insufficient.

Duterte expressed a willingness to extend the Luzon quarantine until April 30, and mentioned providing assistance to middle-income families.
