Cayetano assures Duterte of honoring term-sharing deal

Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano assured President Rodrigo Duterte on Wednesday that he will honor the term-sharing deal with Marinduque Representative Lord Allan Velasco, despite pressure from some congressmen who want him to stay.

Deputy Speaker Luis Raymund Villafuerte said after their meeting with the President that Cayetano would resign anytime but could not speak for his supporters in the majority.

Buhay party-list Representative Lito Atienza warned on Tuesday that Duterte could lose credibility if the term-sharing agreement fails, urging the President to ensure both parties honor it.
