Duterte approves extra P1.185B for unpaid HCW allowances

President Duterte has approved an additional P1.185 billion from the Contingent Fund to cover special risk allowances for healthcare workers who have not yet received their SRAs.

This amount will benefit both public and private hospital staff directly dealing with COVID-19 patients, bringing the total released funds to around P8 billion for 496,314 health workers as of January 14.

DOH Assistant Secretary Maylene Beltran noted an additional request of over P3 billion is pending approval to cover SRAs for approximately 185,000 more healthcare workers.
