DTS denies 'tanim bala' allegations, investigates, fires 4

Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon has denied recent allegations of 'tanim bala' or bullet-planting incidents at Philippine airports, based on three cases this month involving passengers found with ammunition.

Initial investigations by police and the Office for Transportation Security (OTS) confirmed that OTS personnel did not plant bullets in these incidents.

Passengers admitted to being unaware of the bullets or claimed someone had asked them to carry items.

Dizon vowed to investigate thoroughly and has already terminated four OTS employees for alleged involvement in a March 6 incident at NAIA.

He met with a woman wrongly accused of carrying an amulet over lunch to apologize.
