DTI launches SCLC with discounts for MSMEs

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) launched a platform on Wednesday aimed at addressing logistics and supply chain concerns for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

At the launch ceremony in Makati City, DTI Secretary Ma. Cristina Roque announced the creation of the Supply Chain and Logistics Center (SCLC), designed to lower logistics costs and enhance MSME competitiveness.

The SCLC will provide real-time assistance through a hotline and an online portal, offering information on freight inquiries, service referrals, regulatory guidance, and more.

Major logistics companies, including 2GO, Airspeed, Cebu Pacific, DHL, F2 Logistics, Fast Logistics, FedEx, Flash Express and Grab, have committed to offer discounted rates for MSMEs as part of the initiative.

Roque emphasized the importance of strengthening supply chains to help MSMEs grow their businesses and improve product movement across the Philippines' 7,600 islands.
