DSWD readies P92M funds, food packs for Holy Week

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has its disaster management teams on standby for Holy Week this year.

Assistant Secretary Irene Dumlao stated that quick response teams from the central office and 16 field offices are prepared to deploy immediately if needed, as directed by DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian.

DSWD has allocated P92 million in funds and 2.7 million food packs stored across warehouses nationwide for emergency use.

The department is coordinating with weather agencies to monitor potential risks during the Holy Week festivities.

Dumlao urged the public, especially travelers and those attending large gatherings, to prioritize safety and remain vigilant.
