Driver in NAIA SUV crash granted PHP 100K bail

A driver involved in an SUV crash at Ninoy Aquino International Airport's Terminal 1 in early May was released from detention after a Pasay City Regional Trial Court granted him bail set at PHP 100,000.

The driver, who is 47 years old, faces charges including reckless imprudence resulting in double homicide, multiple serious physical injuries, and damage to property.

Manila International Airport Authority General Manager Eric Ines confirmed receipt of the court's bail order and stated that they must comply with it.

A four-year-old girl and a 29-year-old man died in the crash, while CCTV footage contradicted the driver's initial claim that another vehicle had cut him off.

The driver tested negative for drugs and alcohol during an investigation conducted by the PNP Aviation Security Group.
