Dr. Willie Ong endorses Bam Aquino for senator

Cardiologist and social media influencer Dr. Willie Ong has endorsed former senator Bam Aquino for the May 12 midterm elections, comparing Aquino's campaign to his own lifelong mission as a doctor.

Dr. Ong withdrew from his own senatorial candidacy last year after being diagnosed with sarcoma cancer, stating that he supports Aquino's advocacy for free education.

Photos and videos show Dr. Ong raising his hand in support of Aquino during a visit to his office in Pasay City, where the endorsement was made public.

Dr. Ong had previously filed for vice president in 2022 but later ran for senator before withdrawing due to health reasons.

Currently focusing on immunotherapy and targeted therapy after completing six cycles of chemotherapy, Dr. Ong remains committed to his mission despite his illness.
