DPWH starts 24-hour road repairs in Metro Manila, April 16-21

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will carry out 24-hour road repairs from April 16 to 21 across at least 30 sections of Metro Manila to improve infrastructure and ease traffic flow during the Holy Week break.

Roadworks will cover major areas in Quezon City, Malabon, Caloocan, Makati, and Pasig, including sidewalk restoration, canal declogging, and flyover retrofitting.

Specific works include replacing expansion joints on C5 Road/Ortigas Flyover southbound in Pasig City and Magallanes Flyover Northbound in Makati City, with motorists advised to use alternate routes such as the Service Road and Mabuhay Lanes.

In Quezon City, road reblocking activities will be conducted from JL Escoda Street to Mindanao Avenue Underpass, northbound and southbound, also recommending service roads for alternative travel.

The DPWH-NCR has secured a 2025 budget for continued retrofitting of flyovers and major structures along EDSA and surrounding road networks, with close coordination with MMDA on rerouting schemes to minimize traffic disruption.
