DPWH targets over 200 disaster-resilient evacuation centers this year

The Duterte government aims to construct over 200 disaster-resilient evacuation centers this year.

DPWH Secretary Mark Villar said the department plans to build at least two evacuation centers per province, with a current target of more than 200 centers.

Villar noted that additional budget could increase the number of planned evacuation centers.

President Duterte has renewed his call for durable evacuation centers following damage caused by Taal Volcano's activity and suggested including bathrooms with separate shower rooms and toilets in these centers.
