DOTr-SAICT arrests wanted police officer for rape

A police officer wanted for rape since February 2016 was apprehended by the DOTr-SAICT on Monday, March 24, for illegally using the EDSA busway.

Upon being stopped by DOTr-SAICT personnel, the suspect claimed to be a member of the Philippine National Police and demanded to pass through the restricted area.

DOTr-SAICT contacted the PNP's CIDG to verify the suspect's identity and confirm his outstanding warrant for rape.

CIDG officers arrived at the scene with a copy of the arrest warrant and took the suspect into custody, escorting him to Camp Crame.

The DOTr-SAICT also confiscated the suspect's driver's license during the apprehension.
