DOTr revokes Burgos' license, suspends 671 others

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has revoked the driver's license of Mark Louie Burgos, a bus driver seen speeding on his way to La Union in a viral video.

DOTr Secretary Vince Dizon announced that Burgos' driver’s license will be permanently removed and a show cause order issued to ELS Bus Company for involvement in two road incidents in La Union.

Passengers in the viral video were visibly panicked, urging the driver to slow down.

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has also suspended for 90 days the licenses of 671 drivers involved in road crashes or testing positive for illegal drugs during Holy Week.

Of these suspensions, 547 cases were due to accidents resulting in slight injuries and fatalities.
