Free rides for seafarers on LRT-2, MRT-3 Tuesday

Several train systems will offer free rides to seafarers on Tuesday, June 25, in honor of the Day of the Filipino Seafarer.

The Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT-2) and Metro Rail Transit System Line 3 (MRT-3) are participating, with LRT-2 offering free rides from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., while MRT-3 will provide free rides from 5:30 a.m. until the end of its operating hours.

Seafarers must present their valid Seafarer's Record Book, Seafarer's Identity Document, or Seafarer's Identification Booklet (SIB) to avail of these services.

The initiative is supported by the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Maritime Industry Authority (Marina), aiming to acknowledge the contributions of Filipino seafarers on their special day.
