DOLE to start consultations for possible Metro Manila wage hike in mid-May

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) announced that consultations on a possible wage increase for Metro Manila's minimum wage earners will start in mid-May.

DOLE-NCR Director Sarah Buena Mirasol stated that preparations are underway for discussions between labor and employer groups regarding a potential salary adjustment.

Mirasol also mentioned that public hearings will be held in June following the initial consultations.

If the deliberations proceed smoothly, a new wage order could be issued as early as July.

The last minimum wage increase in Metro Manila took effect on July 17, 2024, raising the rate to PHP645.
