DOLE: Private workers get 200% salary on Araw ng Kagitingan

Private sector employees working on Wednesday, Araw ng Kagitingan, are entitled to receive 200% of their daily salary.

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) issued a labor advisory reminding employers about the proper wage payment for workers on this regular holiday.

Employees who work more than eight hours will receive an additional 30% of their hourly rate, while those working during both a rest day and a regular holiday are entitled to an extra 30% on top of the 200% pay.

If employees do not report for work but were present or on paid leave the previous day, they will receive 100% of their daily wage.

DOLE also noted that if the preceding day was a non-working day or rest day and the employee reports for work or is on paid leave, they would be entitled to holiday pay at 100% of their basic wage.
