DOLE organizes job fairs with 244K vacancies

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) reported on Monday that it organized 128 job fairs across the Philippines between January and April 2025, resulting in 3,572 jobseekers securing employment on the spot.

These job fairs featured over 244,000 vacancies from more than 2,000 employers, with Patriwirawan emphasizing collaborations with development partners and the International Labor Organization (ILO) to update employment programs.

DOLE is focusing on employment forecasting to predict future job trends in sectors such as IT-BPM, transport and logistics, hospitality, manufacturing, and wholesale and retail trade.

The department also highlighted initiatives for fresh graduates and young Filipinos through its youth employability program, government internship program, and special program for the employment of students.

Unemployment in the Philippines fell to 3.8 percent in February from 4.3 percent the previous month, while underemployment dropped to 10.1 percent from 13.3 percent in January according to data from the Philippine Statistics Authority.
