DOJ prepares Interpol red notice for Roque on human trafficking charges

The Department of Justice (DOJ) is preparing documents to request an Interpol red notice against former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque, who is currently seeking asylum in The Netherlands.

Roque faces human trafficking charges due to his alleged ties with Philippine offshore gaming operators (POGOs), and a Pampanga court issued an arrest warrant for him last week.

DOJ spokesperson Mico Clavano stated that the department is still studying the best course of action, including other legal options beyond Interpol's red notice.

Clavano emphasized the government's duty to find those involved in crimes and bring them before the court, while consulting with international law experts within the DOJ.

Roque has denied allegations, saying the moves are part of political persecution.
