DOH urges optional mask use but warns of high-risk scenarios

Wearing masks outdoors is now optional in the Philippines according to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s Executive Order No. 3.

However, top health officials and infectious disease specialists like Dr. Rontgene Solante recommend continuing to wear masks due to rising COVID-19 cases involving multiple family members.

Dr. Solante emphasized that masks should still be worn in situations where the risk is high or when individuals are unsure of their safety.
