DOH reports 816 new Omicron BA.5 cases

The Philippines has detected 816 new cases of the Omicron BA.5 subvariant.

All regions except the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao have reported these cases, with twelve returning overseas Filipinos testing positive for BA.5.

Of the total cases, 560 are fully vaccinated and the vaccination status of the remaining 256 is still being verified.

Additionally, 686 individuals are now tagged as recovered, 78 are still isolating, and the status of 52 others remains under verification.
