DOH records 3 more Arcturus cases, expert says not driving surge

The Department of Health (DOH) recorded three additional cases of the XBB.1.16 Omicron subvariant, known as 'Arcturus', bringing the total to four.

All new cases were locally transmitted in Western Visayas and are currently classified by the World Health Organization as a variant of interest.

Infectious diseases expert Dr. Edsel Salvana assured that Arcturus is not behind the recent increase in COVID-19 cases, noting only one detected case so far.
