DOH investigates if rapid antibody tests fueled COVID-19 spike

The Department of Health (DOH) is investigating whether the use of coronavirus antibody tests may have contributed to a spike in COVID-19 cases.

Dr. Mininguita Padilla, medical team leader of Project Ark, stated there is no evidence that rapid test kits caused an increase in infections and urged for their continued use.

Medical organizations had previously called for stricter lockdown measures after urging the government to halt the use of rapid antibody tests due to potential inaccuracies.
