DOH: No significant difference between Omicron and stealth variant

The Department of Health (DOH) reported on Wednesday that there is not much difference between the Omicron variant and its 'stealth' subvariant, BA.2.

Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said both sub-lineages are now predominant in Metro Manila and other regions, with BA.1 being more common among returning overseas Filipino workers and in Region V.

The DOH noted that while initial observations show no significant clinical differences between the two subvariants, further study is needed due to limited data.
