DOH: NCR gets over 500K of 2M additional AstraZeneca doses

The Department of Health (DOH) announced that over 500,000 of the additional 2 million AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine doses will be allocated to Metro Manila, with the remaining distributed across other regions.

Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire stated during an online briefing that the highest allocations are in the NCR Plus bubble due to its status as the pandemic epicenter, aiming for herd containment.

The distribution includes 501,600 doses for NCR, 261,000 for Region 3 (Central Luzon), and 254,000 for Region 4A (Calabarzon).

Other regions will receive smaller allocations ranging from 36,000 to 132,000 doses, with a buffer stock of 11,600 doses reserved.
