DOH Sec Herbosa urges 3,845 new doctors to join government service

DOH Secretary Teodoro Herbosa congratulated 3,845 newly licensed physicians and urged them to join government service at the Department of Health on Saturday.

The Professional Regulation Commission announced that 58 percent of 6,600 examinees passed the Physician Licensure Examination in October 2024.

Herbosa encouraged new doctors to participate in initiatives like the Doctor to the Barrios program and DOH-run hospitals' residency programs such as Family and Community Medicine.

He highlighted opportunities for these physicians to work at BUCAS centers, mobile primary care clinics, and the PuroKalusugan program.

Herbosa urged new physicians to help build a health system that provides safe, affordable, and accessible healthcare for all Filipinos under the New Philippines initiative.
