DOH: ECQ needed to avoid 430K active COVID-19 cases by end-April

The Department of Health (DOH) projects that without implementing an enhanced community quarantine (ECQ), active COVID-19 cases in the Philippines could reach 430,000 by the end of April.

Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire cited data showing a swift rise in cases in Metro Manila and neighboring provinces, collectively called 'NCR Plus'.

Vergeire stated that immediate and harder measures are necessary to prevent further exponential increase in cases.
