DOH, DOST to study vaccine boosters, mix brands

The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and the Department of Health (DOH) plan to conduct clinical trials on COVID-19 vaccine boosters and mixing different brands for first and second doses.

During these studies, experts will examine using the same brand for both doses followed by a booster from a different brand, as well as using two different brands for the initial doses.

The protocol is still being finalized and requires FDA approval; results will be reported to the National Task Force against COVID-19 Vaccine Cluster for further action.
