DOH: Sinovac, Gamaleya, Clover await document completion

Health Secretary Maria Rosario Vergeire stated on Tuesday that applications from Sinovac, Gamaleya, and Clover for conducting clinical trials of their COVID-19 vaccines in the Philippines are still being processed.

Vergeire noted these manufacturers need to complete additional documents before approval can be granted.

Only Janssen has received approval so far to conduct a Phase 3 clinical trial in the country.

The Vaccine Expert Panel (VEP) has assigned five sites for Janssen’s clinical trials, which will help speed up regulatory approval if the vaccine proves effective.
