DND chief meets Lithuanian minister to sign MOU on security cooperation

Department of National Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr. met with Lithuanian Minister for National Defence Dovilė Šakalienė in Manila on Monday.

The officials signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to enhance cooperation in areas such as cyber security, defense industry, munitions production, hybrid threats, and maritime security.

Šakalienė highlighted her visit as a significant step towards deepening bilateral ties and Indo-Pacific security cooperation during the four-day official visit.

Teodoro emphasized the importance of extra-regional partnerships for smaller countries facing common challenges and threats.

Both officials stressed their shared principles in upholding international law, particularly against unilateral actions that threaten regional stability.
