DILG Sec Remulla defends casual messaging on habagat

DILG Secretary Jonvic Remulla defended his agency's casual messaging style regarding class and work suspensions due to the habagat, saying he had no ill intentions.

Netizens criticized the DILG's post on Tuesday for its informal tone, describing it as inappropriate during severe weather conditions.

In an interview with DZMM on Wednesday morning and a subsequent social media post in the afternoon, Remulla said people in Cavite understood his messaging style and he would not change who he is despite criticism.

He acknowledged that if his words hurt anyone's feelings, he offered an apology but emphasized that humor does not harm anyone and did not curse, belittle or endanger anybody.

According to the Presidential Communications Office, Remulla was given authority by the Cabinet and Palace to announce suspensions starting Monday.
