Two Mati City residents recover from first confirmed COVID cases

Two patients in Mati City, Davao Oriental who were the first confirmed Covid-19 cases there a week ago have recovered.

Dr. Ben Hur Catbagan Jr., commander of the Mati Incident Management Team (IMT) for Covid-19, announced that both patients tested negative and will be released from the Davao Regional Medical Center in Tagum City but must remain under strict home quarantine for another 14 days.

Patient 3 is also stable and asymptomatic, continuing to undergo home quarantine.

In Digos City, the first recorded Covid-19 patient has recovered and was discharged from SPMC on Saturday; Mayor Josef Cagas reported that the city still has 14 patients under investigation (PUIs), with three in stable condition set for release and eleven under home quarantine.

Local health officials confirmed a suspected case of a 71-year-old woman who died due to diabetes tested negative for Covid-19.
