Diesel drops P0.20, kerosene P0.40 Tuesday

Motorists will see slight relief as diesel and kerosene prices drop starting Tuesday, March 18, following three consecutive weeks of fuel price rollbacks.

Diesel prices will decrease by P0.20 per liter while kerosene will be reduced by P0.40 per liter; gasoline prices remain unchanged.

Oil firms such as Shell Pilipinas, Seaoil, CleanFuel, Caltex, Jetti, Petro Gazz, and PTT have announced these price adjustments in separate advisories on Monday, March 17.

The Department of Energy's Oil Industry Management Bureau attributed the rollbacks to rising crude oil supply in the US and a stronger Philippine peso against the US dollar, which has helped lower importation costs.

Despite this week's slight cuts, the DOE noted growing challenges in sustaining demand amid potential economic downturns in the US and other global economies.

In Metro Manila, gasoline prices range from P54.60 to P71.95 per liter, while diesel is at P53.70 and kerosene is P70.67; these adjustments reflect a net decrease for kerosene since February 25.
