DICT cyber chief Dy's term ends, Aguda takes over

Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Undersecretary for Cybersecurity Jeffrey Ian Dy's tenure with the DICT has expired effective immediately as per a letter dated March 31 from the Office of the President.

Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin confirmed in a signed document that Dy's position ended, directing new DICT Secretary Henry Rhoel Aguda to ensure proper turnover of all matters related to Dy’s office.

When asked about his departure, Dy stated he served the government and Filipino people well but expressed uncertainty over how his tenure had officially expired since he holds a plantilla position.

Dy confirmed that he will return to the private sector after thanking President Marcos for the opportunity to serve.

Henry Rhoel Aguda, former head of UnionDigital Bank and an expert in digital transformation, was appointed as DICT secretary by President Marcos, replacing Ivan John Uy.
